Immediate Nutritional Relief for Vulnerable Families in Fulgazi, Feni

In August 2024, severe flooding caused by continuous heavy rainfall devastated Fulgazi Upazilla in Feni, Chattogram, Bangladesh. Rivers overflowed, submerging large sections of the region, leaving countless homes uninhabitable, and forcing families to abandon everything. In response, the Cook Meal Distribution Project was launched to provide immediate relief.

The project aimed to combat Protein-Energy Malnutrition (PEM), promote food security, and ensure the timely delivery of 5,000 meal packs to the most affected households. Vulnerable groups like the elderly, single-parent families, and households with young children were prioritized through a comprehensive needs assessment. Despite significant logistical challenges such as damaged roads and disrupted supply chains, the project team adapted by implementing door-to-door delivery.
