Dayemi Foundation’s Flood Relief Efforts in Fulgazi, Feni
Dayemi Foundation’s dry food distribution, which took place on August 30, 2024, was an initiative under the MWF Aid Program in Bangladesh for 2024-2025 and proved to be a lifeline for vulnerable families grappling with the devastating effects of floods in Fulgazi, Feni. By providing essential food supplies, the initiative played a vital role in ensuring food security and supporting the recovery efforts in this affected region.
The successful implementation of this initiative was the result of careful planning, efficient coordination, and the dedication of different stakeholders. A comprehensive needs assessment was conducted to identify the most vulnerable families, ensuring that the distribution efforts reached those in dire need. The distribution process was meticulously organized, with clear guidelines and procedures in place to ensure fairness and transparency.
One of the key components of our relief efforts was the distribution of dry food and water to 200 families in Fulgazi, Feni. Recognizing the urgent need for sustenance, our team worked tirelessly to ensure that essential supplies reached those in need.
The dry food packages were carefully prepared to meet the nutritional needs of the affected population. They included:
- Energy-dense foods: Toast biscuits, puffed rice, and chanachur to provide quick energy.
- Staples: Flattened rice, semolina (suji), and bread for essential nutrition.
- Hydration and electrolyte replenishment: Water, oral saline, and dates to prevent dehydration and electrolyte imbalances.
The dry food and water distribution provided much-needed relief to the flood-affected families in Fulgazi. By providing essential supplies, Dayemi Foundation helped alleviate hunger, thirst, and some of the hardships faced by the community. This initiative also contributed to the overall recovery efforts and strengthened community resilience.
