Dayemi Foundation’s Flood Relief Efforts in Brahmanbaria
The recent flood in Brahmanbaria caused extensive devastation, displacing countless families and creating an urgent need for assistance. In response, On August 25, 2024 Dayemi Foundation launched an emergency relief and rescue effort to provide essential aid to those affected, particularly focusing on the distribution of dry food and water in Bayek Union, Kasba Upazilla. Recognizing the immediate need for sustenance, our team conducted a rapid needs assessment to identify the most vulnerable families and understand their food and water requirements.
Carefully packaged dry food packets including necessities like
- Rice
- Lentils
- Oil
- Sugar
- Salt
- Bread
- Toast biscuits
- Puffed rice
- Semolina
- Water
- Oral saline
- Dates
were made to help meet nutritional demands and avoid dehydration. With no dry location available for a centralized distribution, Dayemi Foundation team adopted a door-to-door approach to ensure the emergency food aid reached every affected household. By delivering these essential items, we helped alleviate hunger, thirst, and some of the immediate hardships faced by the flood-affected community.
The success of our operation was made possible through collaboration with local authorities, community organizations, and dedicated volunteers, whose support was instrumental in ensuring timely aid delivery. Although this relief effort provided immediate assistance, the road to recovery for the flood-affected families will require sustained support. Rebuilding lives and livelihoods is a long-term endeavor, and we at Dayemi Foundation are committed to standing by these communities throughout their journey. We urge individuals, organizations, and businesses to contribute to our ongoing initiatives, as every bit of support can help these communities rise above their challenges.
