Strengthening Community Bonds Through Qurbani
Dayemi Foundation, in collaboration with Minhaj Welfare Foundation, successfully executed the Qurbani project in Bangladesh during Eid-ul-Adha 2024. This annual initiative aims to alleviate hunger and poverty, promote community solidarity, and uphold the Islamic tradition of Qurbani.
This year, we sacrificed 50 cows in the regions of Brahmanbaria and Chattogram. The Qurbani meat was distributed to over 1700 underprivileged families, bringing joy and sustenance to those in need.
Key Objectives:
- Alleviating Hunger: Providing nutritious meat to vulnerable families.
- Fostering Community Spirit: Strengthening social bonds through shared meals and charitable acts.
- Supporting Local Economy: Collaborating with local livestock farmers and butchers.
- Promoting Islamic Values: Upholding the Islamic tradition of Qurbani and its significance.
To maintain the highest standards of hygiene and quality, we employed expert butchers to process the meat. Our volunteers were equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety and prevent the spread of diseases.
We implemented a well-organized distribution plan, considering the ongoing monsoon season. Both indoor and outdoor distribution arrangements were made to accommodate the weather conditions. Beneficiaries were required to present their identification cards to ensure fair and transparent distribution.
The Qurbani project has made a significant impact on the lives of many individuals and families. By providing nutritious meat, we have contributed to their well-being and strengthened the bonds within the community.
